BARC Policies

Welcome to BARC! To ensure a positive and productive experience for both you and your pet, we’ve established the following policies.

Please take a moment to review them:

1. Scheduling & Cancellations

  • Appointments: All training sessions, including private lessons, group classes, and evaluations, must be scheduled in advance.

  • Cancellations: We understand that life happens! If you need to cancel or reschedule a session, please notify us at least 24 hours in advance to avoid a cancellation fee. Cancellations made less than 24 hours prior to your scheduled session will incur a full session fee charge.

  • No-Shows: Failure to show up for a scheduled session without prior notice will result in a full charge for the session.

2. Payment

  • Payment is due at the time of booking for group classes, and private lessons. We accept all major credit cards, checks, and/or cash payments.

3. Health & Safety

  • Vaccinations: All dogs attending classes, run thru’s, drop in’s, clinic’s or playdates must be up-to-date on vaccinations, including Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella (Kennel Cough). Proof of vaccination is required before participation.

  • Health Concerns: If your dog is sick or showing signs of illness, please reschedule your session or class to protect the health of all animals and people in the facility.

  • Behavioral Concerns: We reserve the right to refuse service to dogs with aggressive or dangerous behaviors that may put other pets or people at risk.

4. Class Requirements

  • Age & Experience: Some classes may have age or experience prerequisites. Please review class descriptions carefully to ensure they are suitable for your dog. If you're unsure, contact us for guidance.

  • Group Classes: Dogs should be able to work around other dogs in a controlled environment. If your dog has issues with other dogs, we recommend private sessions or specific behavior modification plans before attending group classes. Contact us with any questions or concerns.

5. Training Materials

  • Equipment: Please bring your dog’s leash, collar, and any training tools discussed in your session. We encourage balanced-based tools and methods. However if you use another training method, please contact us to discuss further.

  • Recording: With permission, sessions may be recorded for educational purposes or to help track progress. If you prefer not to be recorded, please notify your trainer in advance.

6. Facility Use & Rentals

  • Rentals: We offer ring and facility rentals for training, events, or practice sessions. Rentals are subject to availability and require prior booking.

    • Ring rentals can be booked with up to, 2 people per hourly rental. If you are going to have more than 2 guests renting during an hour long period, additional rental fees will apply.

  • Behavior: All facility visitors are expected to respect the space, follow trainer instructions, and maintain a safe environment for all animals and people. Any damage to facility equipment or property will be the responsibility of the renter.

7. Cleanup Policy

  • We understand that accidents happen! However, to maintain a clean and safe environment for all pets and clients, we charge a $25 cleaning fee for any dog that soils or vomits on the floor during a training session or in the facility. This fee covers the additional time and supplies needed to properly clean and sanitize the area. We kindly ask that you inform us immediately if your dog has had an accident so we can address it promptly. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!

  • We do allow intact female dogs in heat to participate. Female intact dogs in heat are required to wear pants when inside the facility. Failure to adhere to this rule will result in a cleaning fee and inability to participate in the future.

8. Liability & Waivers

  • Liability: By participating in training, events, or services at BARC, you acknowledge that you are responsible for your dog’s behavior and actions. BARC is not liable for any injury, damage, or loss that may occur during training sessions or while on the premises.

  • Waiver: All clients must sign a waiver prior to participating in any training or events. This waiver outlines the risks involved in working with animals and releases the facility from liability.

9. Refund & Transfer Policy

  • Refunds: We do not offer refunds for group classes, private lessons, or training packages once services have been rendered. In certain circumstances, such as medical emergencies, we may offer a partial refund or class transfer at our discretion.

  • Transfers: If you are unable to attend a class, you may request to transfer to another class session, provided space is available. Transfer requests must be made at least 48 hours before the start of the class.

10. Respect for Others

  • Code of Conduct: All clients, pet owners, and visitors are expected to treat each other, our staff, and the facility with respect. Aggressive or disruptive behavior will not be tolerated. We strive to create a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive environment for all.
